ARTIFACT PRESERVATION EVENT  4/1/2008

The Ark-La-Tex chapter of the ARMA will hold a preservation workshop Wednesday, May 14, at Kilgore College, Longview Center, Special Events Center , 209 S. Center Street in Longview. the event will be held from 8:30a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The workshop will be a hands-on experience in archival preservations designed to teach the basics of archival principles and practices for business and personal use. You will learn how to slow down the aging process with proper handling and storage methods. Attendees will receive an archival kit with selected preservation supplies, archival catalogs and resource lists. Guest speaker will be Jenny N. Barker who has applied her degree in Library Service for 30 years to the world of business records.
