NEWSLETTER MOVES TO QUARTERLY  6/15/2005

Throughout its brief history the Friends of the Mansfield Battlefield has published a monthly newsletter. The newsletters were distributed both by snail mail and e-mail. The increase in anti-spam programs by many ISPs meant that newsletter had to be sent individually or in small groups. Even then, some bounced back since people change their e-mail addresses more often than their physical addresses. To address the concerns about time, the FOMB board voted to move to a quarterly printed newsletter mailed to all members via U.S. Postal Service. International members will continue to receive their newsletters via e-mail. The first issue with the new expanded format has been mailed. A color version is available on the Web site. Titled BATTLEFIELD JOURNAL, the publication features photographs and eight pages of information. Future publications will be sent in September, December, and March. The Web site will be updated more frequently with news and information relevant to members. FOMB welcomes comments from members and encourages others to join and receive the quarterly mailing.
